Day/Date: Saturday/ 14 August 2010
Timing: 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Venue: Matoshree vrudhashram ,Rajaram bridge
Matoshri at 5:30pm on the eve of the Independence Day,it was a wonderful atmosphere. Many members were traditionally dressed & looking good which set the flavor for the evening. We all know that the beginning plays very important role. The onus was on Saurabh Chitale to start. He started the activity gracefully, welcoming all Aaji-Ajobas of Matoshri. This man has a flair to catch the hearts of the people listening.Act went as follows:
•Amruta Karve narrated 2 stories about Nagpanchami in her own innocence. Then the time was to celebrate Rakhi. This was the first time when my wrist wore more than 3 Rakhis.Members gained more than a brother or a sister that evening. There is a famous saying that one should earn people rather than money & all DS members did that.
•Tanmayee sang in her flawless attire.
•After this one of the Ajobas narrated story of Rakhi, how the tradition started. He was precise, loud & clear. From this it is clear that those Ajoba-Aajis are the treasure of knowledge, full of experiences. We have many many things to learn from them.
•Then our own Amey Kulkarni explained about snakes, their types, what care we should take & how some superstitions are entirely ridiculous.I am sure that this was definitely an interesting 7 minutes session for all present people there(Congo Ameya).
•Group of 9 Aajis performed Manglagaur khel & dance. They must be above 75 years of age,but enthusiasm was sky high, remarkable.
The celebration of Nagpanchami & Rakhi was really uniquethis timefor us.PMs namely Saurabh C,Amruta K were superb in planning & there was no mess at all despite of a good count of 38.
After the act there was a presentation related to Eco Payitrya, the initiative taken by DS Members.I wish good luck to all concerned.I appeal to all DS members to take part in this with full enthusiasm.
The act ended with feedback, one new member introduced. In the absence of president,Amol K.handled the responsibility really well.We must say that DS is going places…cheers.
Special Appreciation: Anushka Shembekar for invaluable contribution.
